Once again, we catch a cold, just like in previous years... Sniffles, sneezing, itching, body aches and exhaustion ... The cold season has set in and everyone will catch one, two ... or more colds, soon. (If they haven't already)

If you have small children at home, it is 99.9% certain that you will be getting plenty of germs at home that will spread everywhere. The possibilities of avoiding a cold are then ... null ...

We all know, of course, that there are many over-the-counter cold medications that can help with the symptoms of colds, but most of them do not get rid of it any faster. In addition, many of these products are prohibited for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

What to do, then? We can look to "old school" remedies, used by our grandparents, for example.

Because in everything our ancestors used to preserve or regain their health, we shouldn't just dismiss everything.

A doctor, Dr. Anthony Balduzzi, has said that folk remedies have always existed for a long time because they work. This same doctor recommends three traditional remedies, which relieve colds and we should all add these to our list of favorites.

1. Cold and wet socks

The first remedy against the cold is to put cold and wet socks on your feet! You will find all the details of this remedyby clicking here.

Dr. Balduzzi said, "It may be one of the wildest but most effective folk remedies." In his opinion, this method is effective against colds, flu and head congestion.

2. Homemade syrup

This doctor also recommends a cough syrup that your grandparents most likely used. Its preparation is to mix 3 ingredients that fight against a cold: honey, onions and garlic.

How to make it:

  1. Pour honey into a glass jar.

2. Cut the garlic and onion and put them in the pot of honey.

3. Refrigerate overnight.

4. Take a good tablespoon (15 ml)

This sounds strange, but apparently it's effective and the taste is not really all that bad, according to people who have tested this remedy.

3. A tea remedy

The third recommendation from Dr. Balduzzi: anti-cold tea to have on hand all winter.

It involves infusing a ginger tea and adding a sage leaf, for more potency.

Do these remedies seem strange to you? We have seen stranger things, have we not? And since they are economical and natural, they are certainly worth trying out!

Because life is too short to suffer for months because of the infamous cold!

We wish you a beautiful winter, with no runny noses and no coughs!
