  •  1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and diced (about 2 apples)
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 spoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 spoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk


  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon



Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a donut pan. Keep aside.

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, brown sugar, sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add the cold butter and mix with the fingertips to incorporate the butter into the dry ingredients.

In another bowl, whisk egg with milk and add apples.

Add this mixture to the butter and flour mixture and mix with a wooden spoon.

Fill the cake mould with the prepared dough and bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Do not overcook.

Let cool for 5 minutes, then remove from the mold.

In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.

Brush each donut with melted butter and soak in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Preparation time:20 minutes
Cooking time:15 to 18 minutes
Servings: 12 donuts
