A barber shop owner in the UK, Rich Holtham, received an quotation of about 1000 pounds, or more than $1600, to renovate his floor. He therefore preferred to cover it with 70,000 pennies.
"We wanted a new floor, but the price was too high, and we had something more original in mind, so we looked for ideas online," he told the Daily Mail.
All commercial employees spent a whole week sticking pennies to the floor before joints were fixed, according to the Bored Panda website.
"We had to withdraw our own money from the bank, with withdrawals going up to several hundred pennies a day," the owner explained. "In the end, we needed 700 pounds, or 70,000 pennies. "
The barber certainly does not regret his decision because in addition to having an original floor, several passersby stop there just to admire it. "Our floor interests a lot of people, to be honest. Passers-by enter only to take pictures. We have increased our turnover thanks to this" he said.
