Keeping a fresh salad for 1 week is really easy.
First of all...
Peel, wash and dry the salad as soon as you are at home. Bin the damaged leaves, which could transport the E-coli bacteria
In an airtight container, add your salad leaves and place a sheet of paper towel on top. The key to conservation is to regularly change the paper.
Cover and refrigerate. (The vegetable drawer is the best place to keep the lettuce and will maintain the correct temperature and humidity level.)
Did you know that you should always remove the salad leaves with your hands?
Using a metal knife would cause an oxidizing effect on the leaves.
Need to give a second life to a faded salad? Simply dip your salad in a large bowl of cold water, with some sugar.
